DRESSAGE required competitors to complete a number of mandatory exercises (right turn, left turn, about turn, left about turn and double about turn), plus an optional 'bonus' exercise of the competitors choice, if they wished.
SHOW JUMPING required competitors to tackle 4 jumps in a square against the clock, with points lost for a refusal or knocking over a jump.
HURDLES consisted of two circuits of a set of Calvaletti poles, once again against the clock.
RELAY - The competitors were divided into two teams. Each team had to perform in turn, against the clock, a recall with a sit to finish. Each dog was not permitted to start until the previous dog had sat.
BEAM - a narrow taped area on the floor, within which each dog had to perform a sit, a down and a stand, plus, if the handler wished, an optional 'bonus trick', all without the dogs' paws straying outside the confines of the 'Beam'.
SHOT PUT - NOT as one owner wondered, seeing how far you could throw your dog!! Each dog had instead, to remain in a sit, while the owner threw 3 bean bags into a circle, with each concentric ring scoring higher.
